GAR 2026 Asian Open Contest with Multinational Exchange Program & Study Tour | Macao, China

From July 24 to 28, 2026, the GAR 2026 Asian Open Contest with Multinational Exchange Program & Study Tour was successfully held in Macao, China. Organized by the Global Artificial Intelligence Robot Society (GARS), the event brought together hundreds of young participants from multiple countries and regions, including Macao, China; the Philippines; Kazakhstan; and other countries and regions. Participants came from primary school, junior middle school, and senior middle school levels. The competition venue was hosted at the Ilha Verde Secondary School of the Macau Commercial Association, where participants experienced a rich blend of international exchange, competition, and cultural exploration over five unforgettable days.
Day 1 · July 24 · Arrival Day
Teams and coaches arrived in Macao, with GARS arranging airport transfers and hotel check-ins. Participants had time to rest and settle in, preparing for the exciting days ahead.

Day 2 · July 25 · Exchange & Practice Day
In the morning, participants checked in at the hotel and received their GAR materials before heading to Ilha Verde Secondary School. Students toured the STEM lab and took part in a multinational exchange session. Teams were formed and introduced themselves, followed by an EEG tech class, where participants learned about brain-computer interface technology and later tried it out through a hands-on robotics activity.
In the afternoon, GARS delivered a detailed explanation of the GAR competition rules, ensuring all participants had a full understanding of the regulations. Teams then entered a free practice session to fine-tune their robots for the upcoming competition.

Day 3 · July 26 · Competition Day
The day began with an opening ceremony, featuring speeches from organizers and the official oath-taking by judges and participants. The GAR 2026 Asian Open Contest officially commenced under the theme "Future City," with competitors applying programming, mechanical design, and strategic thinking to tackle a variety of challenges. Teams demonstrated strong technical skills and excellent teamwork throughout the matches.
A signature exchange activity was arranged during the event to foster interaction among participants. In the afternoon, the closing and award ceremony recognized outstanding teams and coaches across all categories, alongside special team awards.

Day 4 · July 27 · Study Tour Day
Participants set out on a tour covering technology, culture, and urban landmarks. In the morning, they visited the Macao Communications Museum to learn about the history of communication technologies. This was followed by visits to the Ruins of St. Paul's, Na Tcha Temple, and Senado Square, where they experienced Macao's unique East-meets-West heritage. In the afternoon, they strolled through Rua do Cunha, explored The Venetian, The Londoner, The Parisian, and Wynn Palace, taking in the city's vibrant modern architecture and atmosphere.

Day 5 · July 28 · Departure Day
After checking out of the hotel, participants took GARS-arranged transportation to Macao International Airport, departing with lasting memories and a wealth of new experiences.
The five-day program brought together the excitement of international robotics competition, cross-cultural exchange, and study tour, offering young participants from diverse backgrounds a unique opportunity to grow and learn. They sharpened their skills through competition, deepened understanding through interaction, and broadened their horizons through exploration – all of which added meaningful moments beyond the classroom.
The GAR 2026 World Championship with Multinational Exchange Program & Study Tour will take place in Shanghai, China, from December 10 to 14, 2026. Stay tuned!
