Event Overview

The first-ever GAR 2026 Kazakhstan Championship was successfully held on May 21, 2026 at School No. 218 in Alatau District, Almaty. Organized by the GARS Kazakhstan Organizing Committee, the event marked a significant milestone as the first GAR national-level robotics competition in the country. Bringing together young innovators from three age groups – Elementary, Junior, and Senior – the championship provided a platform for students to demonstrate their creativity and technical skills. The event also drew strong interest from local schools and families, highlighting the growing enthusiasm for robotics and STEM education across Kazakhstan.

From Building to Competing

The event followed a full-day schedule. The morning began with registration and an opening ceremony, setting the stage for an exciting day ahead. Participants then entered the robot building stage, where they assembled and programmed their robots using Nashenbot AISTEAM robot kits. After a lunch break, teams moved on to the official competition rounds, completing various tasks on dedicated field maps. The atmosphere throughout the day was filled with excitement, focus, and friendly competition, as young participants demonstrated their abilities.

Road to the International Stage

Winning teams earned their tickets to the international round – GAR 2026 Asian Open Contest – where they will represent Kazakhstan in Macao, China, from July 24 to 28, 2026. This opportunity allows young innovators to compete on a global stage, exchange ideas with peers from other countries, and gain valuable experience in cross-cultural collaboration.

In addition, GAR 2026 World Championship Contest will take place in Shanghai, China, in December 2026, offering another opportunity for outstanding teams to participate. These international events are meaningful steps in their robotics journey and help them further develop their skills.
